We are looking for a Assistant Manager to join our team.
We are a homely medium sized residential home for the elderly approx. 5mins from the town centre/ Ipswich hospital have an excellent opportunity for a strong senior carer / team leader who is looking to progress their career and move into management.
Full training & support will be provided. You should have some experience/knowledge of conducting audits, good word and excel knowledge, and knowledge of CQC inspections, audits and Kloes ( this framework is changing soon ).
You should have some knowledge of CQC notifications and safeguarding referrals.
You should have experience of liaising and conducting meetings with staff, social workers and Gp's
You will work with the management team which includes the homes owner (previous Manager), the registered manager, and the Deputy manager learning all aspects of the care home and be able to take responsibility when the manager is off including being on-call.
The right person will be hard working, caring, friendly, energetic with good administration / paper work skills. You must be very organised and have at least 2 years experience of working as a senior carer or within management, with a minimum NVQ level 2 & have experience handling medication. The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills as you will be carrying out supervisions, training and leading by example.
This is a full time position with a minimum of 40 hours required each week, including alternative weekends and must be flexible with working times and be able to carry out spot checks at anytime. Some of the 40 hours per week could be care shifts. The annual salary is negotiable
A normal working week would be one week 1pm to 9pm Monday to Friday. Second week being 3 days during the week of 1pm to 9pm and weekend of 7.45-4pm.
You will need to be flexible at short notice to change to early shifts if the manager is unwell, you will be open to cover a night shift in the event of sickness and no other cover. You will need to be open to cover care shifts in the event this is needed.
Dependent on experience this position will suit a very good Senior Carer looking to progress or someone who has worked at a supervisory level within care homes.
