Housekeeper

ABOUT THE ROLE

The housekeeper role is a vital role in the care home environment. You will work as part of a team to ensure that the home, its furnishings, and equipment are clean and safe at all times. You will be supported by the Head Housekeeper in order to keep Beulah Vista feeling tidy and having an inviting environment for our residents, families and visitors. There may be a need to assist in the laundry where you will be responsible for performing for washing, drying, and folding of linen.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·  You will help to create the warm and homely surroundings ensuring the residents feel safe and secure

·  To carry out daily cleaning of resident’s bedrooms including polishing, hoovering and bed making

·   Having a good attention to detail by remembering what items belong to which resident

·  To build good relationships with our residents, communicating with them when you are cleaning

·  To take part in activities in the home, making the home fun and inviting

·  Following excellent infection control and health and safety measures throughout the home

·  You will need to have good and effective communication skills

GENERAL

•  To attend and participate in team meetings and complete all mandatory training

•  To attend supervision and appraisals ensuring that you have prepared for these to get the best out of them

•  To attend any other training when a need has been identified

•  To participate in fire drills and take these seriously

•  To follow the code of conduct and uniform policy

•  Mobile phones are not to be used while on duty

•  To ensure that all information of a confidential and GDPR is followed

•  Understand your duty to whistleblow if you witness bad practice or harm to a resident within Beulah Vista
