Hospitality Manager – 45-50k Abbot Care Home
This is an exciting new opportunity for a driven and committed
Hospitality Manager with care industry experience to really make a
difference every day by creating a unique and personal experience for
the people living in our Abbot Care Home in Harlow, Essex. Abbot forms
part of our portfolio of 31 Nursing and Care Homes across the South East.
Abbot Care Home is a beautiful 117 bedroomed nursing and care home
situated alongside open parkland and within gorgeous, landscaped
gardens, offering the de?cor and furnishings of an intimate boutique
hotel, coupled with a real home from home atmosphere.
You’ll have excellent people development and relationship building
skills along with bags of empathy and compassion. In return you’ll be
supported by a well-established and supportive team.
Main Responsibilities of the Hospitality Manager Role:
- Continuously enhance the overall hospitality experience for
residents, their families, and visitors.
- Lead and manage a diverse team across food and beverage services,
kitchen operations, housekeeping, lifestyle services, reception, and administration.
- Ensure team members possess the necessary skills and receive
appropriate training to meet high standards, while actively seeking
feedback from stakeholders to drive improvements in service quality.
- Collaborate with the Learning & Development Team to provide
ongoing development opportunities for staff.
- Effectively manage complaints and concerns within your areas of
responsibility, ensuring resolution in a timely and professional
manner, following company procedures.
- Work closely with the Home Manager to plan and organize staff
rotas, ensuring adequate shift coverage at all times.
- Oversee and manage budgets, ensuring costs are controlled within
your areas of responsibility.
- Partner with kitchen, clinical, and care teams to provide
residents with a personalized dining experience, offering menu
choices that align with individual care plans and dietary needs.
- Cultivate strong relationships with residents' families, actively
seeking feedback and managing expectations.
- Foster team development by setting clear goals, leading by
example, and working collaboratively toward shared objectives.
- Support internal and external audits and inspections, following
through on action plans for necessary improvements.
- Attend required meetings within both the home and regional teams.
- Prepare reports as needed.
About You:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the health and social
care sector is preferred. However, we are also open to applicants
with experience in managing large teams in the hospitality industry,
such as restaurants or hotels.
- Reside within a reasonable commute from Harlow, Essex.
- Proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent customer engagement skills, with a focus on building
strong relationships.
- Energetic and resilient, with the ability to lead, motivate, and
develop teams.
- Honest, accountable, and dedicated to maintaining high standards
of care and service.
- Compassionate and kind, demonstrating empathy toward residents and staff.
- Strong IT and system proficiency.
