As a Senior Day Care Practitioner at Chirk Court, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, high-quality care to residents, particularly those living with dementia. You will be working in a small household of 10 residents supporting with personal care and administering of medication. you will have the support of the other seniors in the other household action to the Department.

Your primary responsibilities will include leading and supporting a dedicated team of care staff, ensuring that care delivery meets the highest standards, and managing the staffing rota to meet the diverse needs of our residents.

The responsibilities of a Senior Care Practitioner include:

  • To effectively manage and support care staff to complete care duties, be competent

in care delivery completion and care planning via use of IS systems.

  • Staff management including completing direct supervision and support of care staff to

ensure standards of care delivery remain of the highest standard and poor practices
are addressed and rectified.

  • Rota management to ensure appropriate staffing requirements to meet the needs of

the service forms part of the duties within this role.

  • Verbal and written work is required to be presented and recorded to a high standard

and within use of IT systems.

  • Working with the public, stakeholders and residents in addition to internal staff to

achieve set objectives is integral to the role of Senior Care Practitioner.

The successful applicant/s will have:

  • One of the following qualifications- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Diploma

Level 3 or Core qualification Level 3 Health and Social Care and a requirement to
complete All Wales Induction Framework or Principles and values section of All
Wales Induction Framework if qualified.

  • Ability to demonstrate and have experience of and an understanding of the physical, social and psychological needs of individuals who reside at the home.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to develop knowledge and skills of current technology used in residential settings.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a non-judgemental approach in work.
  • A positive and proactive personality and able to overcome challenges and difficult situations whilst achieving positive outcomes.

For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Level 3 or working towards Level 3 in Health and Social Care
