Job Title: Care Assistant

Reporting to: Home Manager

Job purpose: To assist in the provision of care and work as part of the team to achieve required standards. To ensure Service Users retain their dignity and individuality. To be involved in the general activities of the Care Centre. To maintain a safe and secure environment for Service Users, Staff Members and Visitors.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

Required:

• Genuine interest in working with the relevant Service Users group, full training will be provided.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, team player and ability to work on own initiative.
• Satisfactory DBS
• Willingness to participate in Vocational Training Programme

Main responsibilities

• Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting Service Users when required with all aspects of daily living.
• Assist Clients in all aspects of their care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual. Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Service Users retain their comfort and dignity.
• Assist in framework of social activities by interacting with Service Users and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Centre
• Escort Service Users travelling to and from the Care Centre e.g. on social outings, hospital visits etc
• Attend mandatory training days/course, on or off-site as and when required
• Participate in relevant NVQ training to achieve the required qualifications

Shift time : 0730hrs to 1330hrs(6hrs), 1330hrs to 1930hrs(6hrs), 0730hrs to 1930hrs(12hrs), 1930hrs to 0730hrs(12hrs).
