We are looking for a bright, bubbly and dynamic candidate who will be
able to coordinate and provide activities both group and
person-centred for the residents in our care home.
This is a permanent position.
We are a 36 bed Dementia Pathway Care Home providing a luxury and
welcoming environment set in the picturesque countryside of Devon.
Responsibilities:
- To organise all social activities / diversional therapy within the
Home, considering residents' particular likes and dislikes as appropriate.
- To incorporate New Residents into the activities programmes within
the Home.
- To liaise with Care Staff regarding the care of residents and
particular activities that may be beneficial and stimulating.
- To liaise with Care Staff regarding special individual
requirements, such as the celebration of birthdays and anniversaries.
- To liaise with Care Staff regarding special cultural and religious
festivals and celebrations, and to be aware of the religious
calendars that may affect activity pursuits, relevant to the ethnic
mix of the residents.
- To organise, and be involved in, activities that involve community
visits outside the Home. To co-ordinate the availability of
transport for residents for such visits.
- To plan activities to a set timetable, this takes in to
consideration participation of every resident within the Home and to
ensure that these are communicated to residents and staff alike.
- To plan daily activities that includes at least one main group
activity and one to one sessions.
- To be responsible for distribution of library books throughout the
Home, and to liaise with appropriate library organisations.
- To ensure the provision of specialist media for residents with
special needs (news tapes, book tapes, large-letter books and
Braille, as required)
- To communicate and liaise with relatives and friends of residents
as needed.
- To assist care staff during mealtimes by assisting resident to eat
in order to promote protected mealtimes
- To liaise with Care Staff to ensure that activities are documented
on appropriate Care Plans and in Care Plan records.
- To organize social events throughout the year to raise funds for
the Residents.
- To assist the Home Manager in reviewing the Activities Plan every
three months
- To make records of all activities conducted including, which
residents have participated.
- To undertake and assist in other duties, as may be necessary from
time to time including self – development
