Job description
Job Title: Care assistant
Hours of work: as contracted
Responsible to: Care Manager
Primary Tasks
To ensure at all times that the Physical, Emotional, Intellectual and Spiritual welfare of the residents are met in full. That the care and supervision of the residents is of the highest standard and that each individual is treated with dignity and respect.
Key Tasks
· Ensure the safety of the residents, visitors, other staff and the building at all times when on duty.
· Participate in all household tasks, as required, according to the time of day and as the need arises.
· Participate in the personal hygiene of residents, including the laundry of clothes and bed linen.
· Participate in the preparing, cooking and serving of all meals if required.
· To be involved in with all aspects of the residents individual needs.
· To be involved in the social life of the home, internally and externally.
· Develop any special interests of individual residents.
· Participate in official meetings and to liaise with all official and unofficial visitors.
· Attend staff meetings.
· To be involved with group meetings with residents.
· To be prepared to attend training courses pertaining to the job and to read up-to-date literature on the subject.
· Any other duties deemed necessary for the smooth running of the home.
