The Limes Retirement Home is a privately-owned care home that offers
a wide range of care needs, including dementia and palliative care.
Situated in the small village of Mellis close to the Norfolk Suffolk
border. The Limes retirement home is an 18th century house that has
been modernised throughout, including new extensions and outdoor cottages.
The home is surrounded by a lush green common and has a large
well-maintained garden with flower beds, seating areas and animals
such as chickens for the residents to enjoy.
The accommodation comprises of 26 single ensuite rooms which are all
tastefully decorated to express a homely, warm, and welcoming feel.
Job description
We are currently offering a health care assistant role to provide a
high standard of resident care in the home and undertake certain
domestic duties.
To provide a safe and caring environment that underpins the
residents’ physical, emotional and psychological well-being.
Our care assistants, whether they are on a day or night shift play a
central role in many aspects of the work at the home. At all times our
key principles emphasise dignity, respect and each resident’s
individuality as well as preserving as much as possible of their independence.
- Part time/Full time plus holiday/sickness cover
- Hours of work: Flexible shift patterns are 6 or 12 hours per day
- Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience including enhanced
weekend and bank holiday rate
Responsibilities and duties
Duties of the health care assistant include but not limited to:
- To carry out regular checks ensuring that service users' privacy
and dignity is respected and always regarded
- To assist service users who need help or reassurance throughout
the day and night
- Assisting Service Users with getting them up in the morning
- To provide a high standard of care including hygiene, continence,
mobility, dressing and general care
- Giving assistance to service users with mobility problems and
other physical disabilities, including the use and care of aids and
personal equipment
- To answer and respond to emergency call bells, to assess the
situation and condition of the Service User’s, to help/assist the
service user seeking help and to summon/inform the Senior on shift
wherever necessary
- You will also be required to complete domestic duties such as
laundry, food preparation, table laying or dusting/cleaning, if
there is time between attending to Service Users and as directed by
Management and Senior Staff
- To maintain accurate notes and records about each service users on
the Care Docs System and to handover all relevant information to day
care staff regarding the ongoing care of individual service users
- Assisting service users with mealtimes
- Engaging with residents to ensure they have a fulfilling day
- Assisting management with care home visits
- To report to the manager of any significant changes in the health
or circumstances of a Service User
