We are looking for caring, reliable & trustworthy individuals, that would like to join a successful catering team in our larger nursing home.

We are a well-established, privately owned, small family run group of care homes with over 40 years of heritage. We have grown in size over the years due to our outstanding successes. We are proud to provide outstanding care to our residents, and have 4 outstanding care homes, 2 nursing and 2 residential, we are looking for a new candidates to join our catering teams as a Chef.

The role

The role requires you to be reliable working approx. 10.5 hour shifts, working alternative weekends. On a full time, permanent role, 3 or 4 days a week, 7:30am to 6pm on a rota basis. You are responsible for providing nutritious, & delicious food for our residents, providing seasonal menus, using fresh locally sourced & in season ingredients to create homemade wholesome meals. To allow for and be knowledgeable of differing diet requirements, tastes and personal preferences of varied dietary preferences of the residents. Effectively managing a well-led hygienic kitchen and kitchen team, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently at all times. You have the responsibility to ensure all environmental health regulations and guidelines are followed and to ensure a safe, clean environment. Working in partnership with your colleagues, managers and relatives to support the person centred approach to nutritional requirements for the residents.

We are looking for someone who can;

· Make our residents happy. Listen to our residents when designing their seasonal menus

· Provide our residents with home cooked wholesome and delicious daily meals

· Ensure that the high standards of residents’ dining experience are maintained, dependent on individual residents needs and preferences

· Be proactive, maintain good communication within the team, promote positive working cultures

· To Support the home management team & Health Care Assistants with personal choices and dietary requirements

· Support management by delivering high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and storeroom, in line with environmental health standards, to support the home to maintain it’s 5 star rating

· Enrich the lives of the residents in the home and their families, by being part of the team that provides excellent personalised care

· To hold a suitable Level 3 Food & Hygiene Certificate, a must.
