About Us:

Buxton Lodge Care Home is a CQC registered care home which has been rated good, the home cares for up to 40 older people. 

The home is supported by a friendly and committed team, fully trained in providing care for older people who require residential care, nursing care or who are living with dementia and other complex conditions

We are looking for a skilled and creative Chef to join our team and contribute to the culinary experience of our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering tasty traditional dishes. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, ensuring kitchen efficiency and working to improve standards and compliance with governing bodies.

Hourly rate: £15 per hour

What does the job role involve?

The role includes but is not limited to:

• Plan and execute menu items in accordance with food safety standards and residents preferences & dietary requirements.
• Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation.
• Collaborate with our residents to develop new dishes and menu’s.
• To control and monitor the progress of assistants and trainees and inform the Head Chef accordingly of any training required.
• To carry out all general duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Any ad hoc duties to meet service delivery for our residents and home.

• Proficiency in kitchen operations
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of food safety protocols
• Experience in meal preparation and menu planning
• Knowledge of special and nutritional diets
• Good communication skills
• Be able to follow and prioritise tasks and responsibilities
• Able to work well as part of a team and independently

• 36 hours per week
• Able to work from 7am, weekdays and alternate weekends.
