Woodlands Care Centre in Macclesfield is looking for a cook / chef to help plan and prepare 3 nutritious meals per day for 24 elderly residents. Experience of cooking in a commercial kitchen is highly desirable, although training will be provided. Experience of preparing meals for the elderly is also desirable, but training will be offered to the right candidate with the right "can do" attitude. Understanding of dysphagia and the IDDSI framework is desirable, but full training will be provided.
We are proud of our level 5 Food Hygiene certificate and the successful candidate will demonstrate a desire to help us maintain high standards.
Responsibilities include:
- preparing good quality, nutritious meals according to the menu plan, including for specialist diets, including puree diet
- reducing waste
- completing written records
- adhering to food hygiene standards
- detailed understanding of allergens
Shifts are 08:00 - 18:30 and this will include some weekend working.
Starting salary will be dependent upon level of experience
