Job Summary
You’re a capable, experienced chef with a City & Guilds 705 qualification (or the equivalent). You’re a caring person who knows the vital role mealtimes play in the lives of frail, older people. Ideally, you’ve already got some experience catering for older people in a care home or similar setting. You’re well-organised and a good team player. You’re happy working closely with colleagues to make sure individual dietary needs are met. You want to be a valued member of a friendly, close-knit team – keen to progress in your career as a chef and do your bit to improve the nutrition of older people.
Your role
- Prepare and cook all food items within as per the resident`s needs and as per the Head Chef`s specifications.
- Assist in developing dish specifications.
- Contribute to working within agreed budgets.
- Assist in the training of staff in preparation of food.
- Assist with organising food stocks and ordering in a timely fashion.
- Control wastage.
- Report poor performance through company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with all team members.
- Contribute to daily food administration.
- Deliver high standards of Hygiene.
- Assist in developing rotas and records.
- Implement Health and Safety requirements.
- Contribute to stock taking as required.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience preferable.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Able to carry out instructions accurately.

Qualifications
• Catering Diploma (City & Guilds/BTEC)

About High Meadows Care Home
Our new, purpose-built care home High Meadows Pinner, situated in High Meadow Close Pinner Middlesex. The 45-bed home will be light, contemporary and luxurious, offering the best in nursing, residential, and respite care. As well as a range of care services, our new care home, has its own hair salon, coffee shop and cinema room.
