We are looking to recruit some amazing, organised, caring people to lead and supervise a team of care workers as per the rolling rota.
The positions available are in Newcastle under Lyme (ST5 0AE)
The role of being a senior carer is an important role. You will assist in developing and co-coordinating a team of care workers to provide the highest standards of respect and care.
You and the team will ensure the dignity of the clients is maintained at all times.
Qualities of suitable candidates:
Ability to ensure the safety of each resident and the general health and well-being of people at all times.
Being able to identify changes in needs of those individuals and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
Ability to complete person-centered care plans and risk assessments.
Knowledge and experience of administration of medication accurately.
Being able to carry out assessments of prospective clients.
You will hold a level 2 or 3 Health and social care or equivalent.
Previous experience in a care setting preferably in a supervisory role
Experience of working with people who suffer from dementia (preferable but not essential)
You will also have to undertake mandatory and job specific training as required by the Manager.

Takes active leadership role on the floor and organizes the whole care team across the whole floor. They are vocal on the radio, there is no doubt they are in charge.
Thinks beyond their own ‘unit’. Ensures breaks are initiated and staff are back on time
Takes initiative and completes tasks set.
They are continuously thinking ahead ‘what else needs to be done' and does it without being asked
Supports the clinical team well - great team player
Care staff are aware that they will be pulled up if they demonstrate poor standards
All audits are completed on their shift - they are seldom asked or chased by the office admin team
They take responsibility for their duties and do not blame others. People talk well of them behind their backs.
They are a positive influence on the floor - it is a delight to work with them as you know it will be a good, well organised shift. They close down the floor in good order.
Other staff look forward to taking over from them as the floor will be well organised and the home & residents in a good state for handover
