The role

As a Kitchen Assistant working as a member of our kitchen team, you have the responsibility to follow environmental health regulations and guidelines and to ensure a safe, clean environment. To support the chef in their role to fulfil the required tasks to maintain a well-run, organised and hygienic kitchen. Working in partnership with your colleagues, managers and relatives to support the person-centred approach to nutritional requirements for the residents.  You will also carry out other tasks, which benefit the smooth running of the kitchen. To support the chef alleviating them of all kitchen assistant duties and ultimately ensuring our residents happiness by providing enjoyable & comfortable dining experiences. The role requires you to be reliable, working alternative weekends.

We are looking for someone who can;

  • Make our residents happy
  • Participate and ensure that high standards of residents’ dining experience are maintained, dependent on individual residents needs
  • Be proactive with the home’s chef, maintain good communication within the team, promote positive working cultures
  • To Support the Health Care Assistants with dining room duties and trays coming and going from residents’ rooms
  • Support management by delivering high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and store room, in line with environmental health standards, to support the home to maintain it’s 5-star rating
  • Enrich the lives of the residents in the home and their families, by being part of the team that provides excellent personalised care
