Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Nursing and Residential Care Home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in care, particularly in managing care plans for residents with varying needs, including dementia care. This role requires excellent supervisory skills and the ability to ensure that all residents receive the highest standard of care while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review individual care plans for residents, tailoring support to their unique needs.
  • Oversee medication administration and ensure that all staff are trained in proper procedures.
  • Foster a positive atmosphere for both residents and staff, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and adjust care strategies accordingly.
  • Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident care and staff performance, ensuring confidentiality is upheld at all times.
  • Lead staff training sessions to enhance skills in senior care practices and dementia support.
  • To provide leadership to the administration, care and nursing, catering, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and people management functions of The Green Care Home with Nursing, Hasland
  • To carry out, and provide leadership in marketing the service, and selling its services at the agreed prices
  • To maintain the operations of The Green Care Home with Nursing, Hasland at the standard agreed with the Registered Provider, within the financial budget or other parameters set by the Provider
  • Conduct staff supervision and annual staff appraisals for all heads of department

Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a managerial role within a care home or similar setting is essential.
  • Strong understanding of senior care principles, including dementia care and medication administration.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ideally RGN qualification and active PIN number
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care management are desirable but not mandatory.
