Job Summary: The handyperson is responsible for
performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks to ensure that
buildings, equipment, and facilities are in good condition. The role
involves troubleshooting and fixing issues, performing preventative
maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light
bulbs, fixing leaks, and repairing doors.
- Conduct inspections of building facilities to identify and
resolve issues.

Carpentry Work:
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of
wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Build and install cabinets, shelves, and other wooden structures.

Plumbing:
- Fix minor plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and broken fixtures.
- Install and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water,
gas, and drainage systems.

Electrical:
- Replace or repair electrical switches, outlets, and fixtures.
- Identify and fix minor electrical problems, ensuring
compliance with safety standards.

Painting and Decorating:
- Prepare surfaces and apply paint, varnish, or other finishes
to walls, ceilings, and furniture.
- Perform touch-ups and minor repairs to maintain the appearance
of interiors and exteriors.

Appliance Repair:
- Troubleshoot and repair household and commercial appliances
such as refrigerators, stoves, and dishwashers.

Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance and repair work meets safety
regulations and building codes.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all
safety protocols and guidelines.

- Interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner.
- Respond promptly to service requests and provide updates on
work progress.

Inventory and Supplies:
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Order and replenish supplies as needed to ensure continuous
availability of necessary materials.

Documentation:
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Prepare reports on the condition of facilities and the work completed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of various repair and maintenance techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in one or more trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical).

Working Conditions:
