Chantry House is a 24 bedded nursing home where the residents having varying nutritional requirements. We are looking for a hard working, dedicated Cook to join our team to provide highly nutritious, fortified home cooked meals for our residents. As a Cook you will be required to work alongside the Home Manager to create tasty and wholesome meals on a 4 week seasonal rota menu. You will also be involved in the nutritional management of the Residents on a day to day basis ensuring their needs are met, this may also include cooking on demand off menu as needed. In addition to this you will be required to support the Activities Co-ordinators with events that involve cooking and catering. You will also be responsible for stock control, ordering and budget management along with some basic HR management (rota/supervisions) of the Kitchen Assistants working alongside you. In addition to cooking the successful applicant will be required to plan menu’s and oversee the running of a kitchen including safe standards of food and hygiene, storage, cleaning, and stock rotation and managing a small team of staff.
Hours for the role can be flexible and negotiated with other staff and would not include working beyond 6pm. Weekend work is part of the role but again this can be negotiated with other staff.
