Professional Duties
Nursing Residental Care and Support
- Provide clinical nursing care to include assessing, planning,
implementing and continually reviewing care needs to provide a high
standard of direct nursing care to our service users, based on
assessment and consultation with individuals, their relatives and
the care team.
- Administer medication for service users in line with NMC and the
company policy & procedures relating to the ordering,
administration, custody, storage and control of drugs.
- Ensure service user medical information regarding conditions is
discussed at handover to next Registered Nurse in charge.
- Update service user medical information kept within care plans.
- Liaise with GP and other medical physicians.
- Build and maintain good relationships with service users and their relatives.
- Promote service user health and wellbeing.
- Ensure each service user has an active, varied and interesting
life which respects individual choice and capability, whilst
observing and promoting service user choice, independence, dignity,
privacy, fulfilment and other rights.
- Report accidents and record in accident book.
- Ensure Registered Nurse is on-premises at all times remaining on
duty if necessary until cover can be arranged.
- Report and record maintenance issues in the maintenace log book.
Staff Management
- Provide guidance, instruction and supervision to staff.
- Mentor new and exisiting staff.
- Induct new staff members.
- Assist in training activties.
- Conduct competences, supervisions and appraisals.
- Rota management.
- Support home manager in meeting the company policies.
- Take appropriate action to ensure that standards are reached and maintained.

residents and expect all staff to share this commitment. A Disclosure
Scotland PVG certificate will be required for all posts.
