To assist the Staff Nurse and Senior Care Assistants on shift and ensure that the residents receive a high standard of care and comfort within the Home. To aim at creating a supportive, homely atmosphere where residents can achieve maximum independence.
KEY TASKS
1. Under the direction and with the support of the Duty Staff Nurses and Senior Care Assistants, attend to the social needs of the residents. These will include:
· Talking and interacting with residents & families
· Helping residents maintain contacts with family and friends
· Assisting residents with recreation
· Dressing
· Washing
· Feeding
· Bathing
· Toileting
· Exercising
· Promoting continence
· Assisting into/out of bed
· Sluicing soiled linen/clothing
· Assisting tidying rooms
· Serving meals and drinks
· Answer Call Alarms
· Report defects and accidents
· Adhere to Health and Safety Policy
· Attend staff meetings
· Attend training lectures/forums when required including all mandatory training.
We are able to offer between 3 and 5 shifts a week. Shifts patterns are 8am-8pm and includes weekend work on a rota basis.
Any offers of positions will be subject to 2 references and a clear DBS check. You are initially responsible for the cost of the DBS but this is refunded after 1 year's service.
Uniform provided, SSP, 5.6 weeks annual leave.
