Salary: £12.03 per hour

Hours: 30 hours per week - 3 x 10 hour days per week, including alternative weekends. Shift times 8am - 6pm                                             

About the Role:

The main purpose of the job is to cook high quality meals accommodating the choices and dietary needs of people who use Fremantle’s service and to be responsible for preparing menus, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment and ordering food and kitchen supplies.

Principle tasks will include:

· Prepare, cook and serve attractive meals which are of a high standard

· Prepare meals in accordance with special dietary needs of people who use the service.

· In consultation with the people who use the service, regularly review menus ensuring choice and variety at each meal time.

· Ensure that all food stuffs are handled, prepared and stored according to Health and Safety and Food Safety Regulations.

· Supervise support staff working in the kitchen.

· Assist the Chef Manager with the ordering of food and supplies, within agreed budgets.

· Assume responsibility of the catering service in the absence of the Chef Manager.

· Ensure that a tidy, hygienic and safe environment is maintained at all times.

· Ensure that day-to-day tasks and routines are carried out to contribute to the smooth running of the service as a whole.

· Actively promote the service and Fremantle by clear, respectful and helpful communication with all potential customers including people who use services, relatives, health and social care professionals, other officials and contractors, visitors as well as Fremantle colleagues.

· Contribute to the success of the whole staff team by respecting colleagues and participating in team meetings and communications systems.

· Any other duties consistent with the business of Fremantle, the job, and hours of work as may reasonably be required.
