At Barty House Nursing Home in Maidstone we are looking to recruit Care Assistants who can help promote independence and dignity and positively enhance the lives of the individuals. For this role, you will be required to have previous experience of working in the residential healthcare sector and have knowledge and experience of caring for the elderly.

We currently have the following permanent vacancies for Care Assistants to join our team on a full time basis:

  • Full time day shift - 3 days (36 hours) every week, working from 7.00am to 7.00pm
  • Full time night shift - 3 nights (36 hours) every week, working from 7.00pm to 7.00am

You will be required to work alternate weekends in these roles.

Care Assistant - Key Duties:

  • Provide a high level of care to our residents ensuring their wellbeing.
  • Provide personal care, maintaining a high level of hygiene.
  • Accurately recording observations in accordance with the resident’s conditions, informing the Senior Nurse on duty of any changes and responding accordingly.
  • Supporting our residents to maintain their independence.
  • Identifying and assisting with residents’ needs.
  • Serving meals.
  • Assisting our residents as necessary.

Care Assistant - Requirements:

  • You will have previous experience of working in the residential healthcare sector and will have knowledge and experience of caring for the elderly.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to be flexible and have a willingness to work shifts, including weekends.
  • A caring personality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in written form.
