·  To provide and assist service users in maintaining their personal hygiene

·  To assist the service users in achieving the outcomes of their set goals as identified in the care plans and to produce care plans and risk assessments.

·  To support service users in all activities of daily living like cooking, washing and shopping etc.

·  To assist service users to use local facilities and also plan their weekly activities.

·  To support service users to attend appointments, meetings or activities identified in care plans including any identified cultural/spiritual requirements.

·  To complete accurate and precise daily reports of service users progress.

·  To administer and record prescribed medication according to the home's policies and procedures and to audit incoming and outgoing medications.

·  To deal with any housekeeping tasks as delegated and report any health and safety issues immediately to a senior member of staff on duty.

·  To organise and monitor the service users care in the home in the absence of the Manager/Deputy.

·  To report and record all accidents and incidents involving service users as per procedures.

·  To report and record any concerns about service users' welfare to the manager without delay

·  To participate in social activities organised by the home for service users whilst on duty and to support service users to participate and attend planned annual holidays.

·  To organise and attend staff meetings, supervision and appraisal sessions when required.

·  To carry out supervision sessions and appraisal with support workers as delegated.

·  To attend any agreed training courses internal/external.

  • To support the service user to care for their pets (If they have them)

Skills / Qualifications:

  • 2 years experieince working in a Residential Learning disability setting.
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent or working towards an NVQ 3
