We are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Health Care Assistant to join our team.

Avalon is a 20-bed residential home that supports older people with physical and mental health issues such as Alzheimer's and Dementia. The home is central to Gloucester City with good transport links close to the home.

Avalon is rated overall ‘Good’ by the CQC.

You will:

  • Supervise the shift.
  • Be required to deliver high standards of care in a person centred way to all residents in line with their care plans, ensuring dignity and respect are promoted at all times.
  • Complete medication administration duties.
  • Have good understanding of dementia care.
  • Help improve the well-being of the residents by promoting independence and inclusion.
  • Support and supervise Junior care staff in their professional development.
  • Carry out other tasks to ensure a smooth running of the home.
  • Form part of the on-call system.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

You should:

  • Have NVQ Level 2 or 3, or willingness to work toward this.
  • Have experience in leading others.
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
  • Have good knowledge of dementia care.
  • Have a passion for delivering quality care and wanting to make a difference to people’s lives.
  • Have basic computing skills to be able to use the electronic care planning system.
