Our Multi Disciplinary Team is looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with experience in supporting those with neurological conditions, including long-term conditions, traumatic brain injuries, strokes and spinal cord injuries. The person suitable for this job must have experience with the use of communication aids and with putting together treatment plans. The senior therapist needs to be qualified to assess and treat Dysphagia, and to have experience working with patients who have a tracheostomy. They also need to be able to provide treatment plans and assist with recommendations for the kitchen team. The right candidate has to be able to complete complex neuro assessments and provide treatment plans for therapy assistants and the care team to follow/provide.
We are looking for a clinician with a strong clinical background in Neurological Disorders and established skills in working closely within an MDT to develop the SLT service provision, using SMART goals to work towards the resident’s goals. This role also includes engaging in MDT meetings with our consultant and with external agencies for full MDT working and support discharge plans.
The post holder will be supported by the Clinical Lead, as well integrated with a wider professional team of therapists delivering high quality care for our residents.
