What you’ll be doing

As one of our highly valued Night Care Assistants, you’ll play an important part in ensuring our residents are safe, comfortable and cared for throughout the night.

Your role will be varied, interesting and rewarding, from general care right through to dementia care. You’ll assist residents with their nighttime routines, including eating, drinking, washing, dressing and getting into bed, you’ll assist our Night Care Supervisor with ensuring residents’ daily progress is recorded and reported accurately, and you’ll help to prepare the home for the day ahead.

You’ll also develop strong relationships with the individuals you work with, and their families, offering support and reassurance. Above all, you’ll always be respectful of residents’ choices, dignity and independence.

Our shift patterns are 12 hours from 8pm to 8am (Night Care Assistants will be expected to work alternate weekends)

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Experience of caring for others would be useful but not essential as you will be offered training on the job. This may not be experience in a paid role – you may have looked after an elderly relative or friend
  • More important though is your kind-hearted nature
  • Your belief in teamwork and your ability to use your initiative and imagination
  • Follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload
  • You’ll be comfortable talking to and working with people from different professions
  • Above all you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard but also fun and rewarding.
