Proficient written and verbal English skills are a must for this job role.

Level 2/3 NVQ is desired alongside a medication administration level 2 qualification

Brief description of duties

To act as shift senior and fully complete the daily delegation board on commencement of shift, ensuring all required tasks and appointments are allocated and achieved as scheduled. Administer medications as per prescription. Must hold medication qualification or working towards.

To provide support and direction to the team, in collaboration, during a span of duty, ensuring safe and effective consistent care delivery to service users as per care plans.

Effective use of allocated daily resource maximizing opportunities for service user engagement and community presence.

Work flexibly across a 7 day rota to meet the needs of the service users. This includes days nights weekends and bank holidays.

Act in a professional and non-discriminatory/non-judgmental manner and as a positive role model at all times.

Adopt a senior presence and responsibility at all times when on duty.

Act as a positive role model at all times modelling expected professional conduct and therapeutic, empowering attitude with service users and staff.

Maintain appropriate staff boundaries commensurate with a senior staff role.

Work in a manner, and direct the work of others, to minimise risk of infection outbreak and adhere to all guidance re infection control processes including hand hygiene practices.

Undertake additional tasks as designated to senior staff including medication management, health and safety audits etc.

To protect the rights of service users.

To ensure service users are safeguarded from potential or actual harm.

Evidence a commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement

Have an awareness of the Key lines of enquiry and CQC regulation framework and how this is evidenced in practice.

To take the lead with visitors and other professionals

To adhere, and monitor adherence, to Cedar House Care Home policy and procedures in place at all times.
