Kitchen Assistant 21 hours per week

Based at our stunning, brand-new care home, Elm Lodge in Hartley Wintney, RG27 8JG. Newly opened, Elm Lodge is a 60-bedded care home providing residential care and offers a fantastic opportunity to set the foundations of an outstanding home.

We are looking for a reliable, caring Kitchen Assistant who wants to make a difference by contributing to providing the best care possible at all times. Starting salary £11.50 per hour. 21 hours a week required, 3 x 7 hour shifts a week with rotating weekends. Flexibility required with shifts of various timings.

Main Duties of our Kitchen Assistants;  

  • To prepare food and cook in a hygienic manner.
  • Clean and wash pots, pans and other kitchen utensils and items.
  • To be aware of the residents’ dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
  • To hold a suitable food and hygiene certificate – training can be given.
  • To dispose of waste correctly.
  • To ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable goods.
  • To contribute in the serving of food.
  • To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.

Skills and Experience of our Kitchen Assistants;

  • Previous experience working within a kitchen environment
  • High level of written and spoken English
