Activities Lead

Based at our brand-new care home, Elm Lodge in Hartley Wintney, RG27 8JG. Newly opened, Elm Lodge is a 60-bedded care home providing residential care and offers a fantastic opportunity to set the foundations of an outstanding home.

We are looking for a reliable, caring Activities Lead to join the motivated and happy team working at our Elm Lodge care home. At Forest Care, we are proud to create positive working environments in each of our care homes by encouraging employee participation and humour in the workplace.

Our Activities Team provide a full and varied activities programme of therapeutic group, individual and one-to-one activities for residents to enjoy. Activities are tailored towards the individual, supported by life story work, in line with Forest Care’s ethos of a person-centered approach to holistic care

Starting salary from £13.00 per hour

This will be a full-time role, 40 hour a week role, working alternate weekends, with a flexible approach.

Main Duties of our Activities Lead;

  • Managing an ongoing calendar of social events and activities for residents
  • Forging and maintaining relationships with external suppliers and the surrounding community
  • Researching and implementing fun, new ideas and engaging activities, keeping to budget
  • Work closely with residents, staff and others involved in the organising and the running of events, utilising their skills and expertise
  • Tailoring each activity to residents’ physical needs
  • Managing a team of Activities Co-Ordinators
  • To undertake any other duties as required by line management 

Skills and Experience of our Activities Lead:

  • Previous experience of organising events and activities would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of leading, motivating and inspiring a team
  • A background in Leisure, Media or Arts would be an advantage
  • Good organisational skills 
  • Forward thinking and able to plan effectively for upcoming events and activities
  • A good level of computer literacy
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing personality
  • Possess Level 2 Napa Qualification in Activities or be willing to commence study(fully supported)
  • Willing to undertake any other courses (fully supported) to keep skills relevant and up-to-date
  • Hold a full, clean driving licence
