Based at our stunning, brand-new care home, Elm Lodge in Hartley Wintney, RG27 8JG. Newly opened, Elm Lodge is a 60-bedded care home providing residential care and offers a fantastic opportunity to set the foundations of an outstanding home.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Care Supervisor to assist the Home Manager in the management and delivery of high-quality resident care and take responsibility for the Home in the absence of the Manager.

Starting salary £15 per hour. This a full-time position of 40 hours a week to include alternate weekends.

Main Duties of our Care Supervisor:

  • Ensure that high standards of care are delivered to meet the needs of the individual resident and to monitor and maintain these standards.
  • Ensure that residents’ physical and emotional needs are identified and met through effective assessment and care planning.
  • Ensure that residents are given the opportunity to maintain their dignity, choice and individuality.
  • To conduct pre-admission assessments for prospective residents and compile care plans to support new residents before admission.
  • Ensure that all records relating to residents are understood, acted upon by all staff and are reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Oversee the ordering, storage, stock control and safe administration of medication.
  • Work with senior carers, and where appropriate carers both day and night in a “hands on” supervision/mentorship role.
  • Help to ensure that all staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Home and the creation of the right atmosphere.
  • Take responsibility for producing the day and night staff Rota and approve annual leave requests in accordance with in-house protocols in the absence of the Home Manager.
  • Oversee duty manager calls on pre-arranged days/nights.
  • Assist with interviews and recruitment process.
  • Lead, manage and develop the work of the staff team, under the supervision of the Home Manager, by setting objectives and supervising staff.

Skills and Experience of our Care Supervisor:

  • QCF Level 3 in Health and Social care or other relevant qualification.
  • Experience of supervising and/ or managing staff in a care home or similar environment.
  • Ability to develop and manage staff rotas.
  • Advanced medication management experience.
  • High level of care knowledge
  • An understanding of person centered care.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Able to use standard MS office packages (Word/Outlook/Excel)
  • Flexibility to alternate working patterns, provide cover and attend emergencies outside of normal working hours.
