Silverlake Care Homes provide a vibrant retreat for older people requiring residential, nursing and dementia care in Billingshurst, Henfield and Crawley.

We are currently looking for a Chef/Cook to work at our Care Home in Derwent Lodge providing a catering service for all the residents we support.

DUTIES:

  • Ensure all meals are of a high standard and meet dietary requirements for the residents.
  • Monitor the work of the Kitchen Assistants, giving support and guidance when required.
  • Monitor stock levels and ordering supplies including ingredients, equipment and cleaning supplies and ensure the stock is stored appropriately.
  • Ensure all records required are correct and updated as necessary such as risk assessments, cleaning, temperature records.
  • Ensure all staff wear appropriate unform whilst on duty.
  • Ensure all relevant health and safety training for the role is up to date.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous catering experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and Food & Hygiene as well as COSHH.
  • Managing a team of Kitchen Assistants.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure in a busy environment.

The successful candidate will be subject to the provision of satisfactory references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and they must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
