To assist with domestic activities such as housework and laundry
To assist residents with their personal care needs
To answer call bells, emergency bells, the door and the
telephone: greet visitors
To assist with all meal preparation, eating and drinking and
supervise dietary needs
To assist with the promotion of mental and physical activities
for residents through the key worker system: by talking to them,
taking them out and engaging in activities with them such as
reading, writing, hobbies, and recreation
To ensure privacy and dignity is always maintained
To be aware of any significant changes in resident’s health
functioning or behavior and to discuss it with Senior Health Care
Assistant or Team Leader
To ensure rooms and common spaces are properly cleaned,
maintained and adequately heated
To operate an agreed system of regular written and verbal
feedback and communication with residents, their families and Senior
Health Care Assistant or Team Leader
To receive supervision as arranged by the Registered Home
Manager, as appropriate
To support and assist residents with personal care needs:
include dressing, undressing, bathing, managing continence needs,
teeth cleaning and toileting
To ensure confidentiality of all residents’ records
To be aware of the security of the residents and building,
locking external doors and windows at a time specified by the
Registered Home Manager
To adhere to policies and procedures within the Home and the Organisation
