Head Of Governance And Safeguarding

About the Role;
We’re looking for a skilled professional to take the role of Head of
Governance and Safeguarding. In this pivotal role, you will be
responsible for leading and managing governance and safeguarding
policies and practices, ensuring that our organisation maintains the
highest standards of compliance, ethics, and safety for all stakeholders.
The Responsibilities Of The Head Of Governance and Safeguarding
- Develop, implement, and oversee governance and safeguarding
frameworks to ensure legal, regulatory, and best practice compliance
in all our care homes
- Ensure our residents and key stakeholders are central to our
approach to driving and reviewing the quality of our services
- Write and update policies and procedures in line with new
regulation and legal requirements
- Implement systems and processes that assess, monitor and drive
improvement in the quality and safety of the services provided,
including the quality of the experience for people using the
service. The systems and processes must also assess, monitor and
mitigate any risks relating to the health, safety and welfare of
people using services and other
- Provide expert guidance and training to staff and volunteers on
safeguarding issues and governance protocols
- Responsible for external notifications and reporting, including
but not limited to updating the CQC on changes and registrations,
managing Coroner / Inquest communication, reporting to the Group’s insurers
- Liaise with members on the Senior Management Team
- Construct and share a monthly Quality report
- Promote evidenced based care practices and research in all care homes.
- Monitoring and liaising with the relevant support functions to
take action on sub?standard performance ensuring all care homes meet
their regulatory requirements and the promotion of effective
governance processes
- Continually be involved in planning and driving continuous
improvement including the development and implementation of
innovative models of care practice
- Ensure that the aims and objectives of the organisation and
operational goals are met at all times
- Support in the management of complaints and complaint responses
- Ensure that attendance to both mandatory and required training courses
- To perform any other related duties that may arise from time to
time to meet the ongoing needs of the company and the position.
About you:
- Proven experience in governance, safeguarding, or risk management,
preferably within a similar sector
- Previously worked at a senior level within an organisation and be
familiar with risk management
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, policies, and
best practices
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills,
with the ability to influence at all levels
- Possess excellent communication skills
- A strong work ethic
- Passionate about delivering improvements and industry leading
initiatives to deliver these objectives is essential
- Committed to protecting vulnerable individuals and promoting a
culture of safety and respect
