Charge Nurse

Bandrum Nursing Home, one of the biggest homes in Scotland, provides specialist adult care and care for the elderly with 24-hour full-time nursing care in our beautiful purpose-built home, set in 19 acres of land. With 88 beds over two homes in the same complex we have 7 units providing care for residents with a range of support needs. We currently have an opening for a Charge Nurse to join our bank of staff working across out different units.

Our nursing team is supported by on-site management ensuring that not only are our residents are supported but that you have the full support of the team around you, if needed. 

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with RGN, RMN, or RNMH qualifications to work day shift.  Under direction of our Care Management Team, The Charge Nurse will provide and supervise the delivery of high standards of nursing care to residents, in accordance with up to date evidence-based professional practice and Company policies. They will organize, manage and run their unit when on duty, including providing high quality care to their residents and managing their team of carers.

Responsibilities will include:

  •   Taking responsibility for the well-being of our residents, including making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met.
  •   Leading, motivating and mentoring to your multidisciplinary team and delivering clinical guidance and training to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient running of the unit
  •  Carrying out assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating person centred care plans for each of our residents
  •   Monitoring work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to relevant standards, policies and legislation, ensuring procedures are followed
  •   Promoting residents` independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the very best standards of care and striving for continuous improvement
  •   Deputise for managers in their absence
  •   Manage staffing to ensure safety and care

In addition to your qualifications and experience, you should have a passion for caring and be ready to wholly adopt a person centred approach; showing compassion and a desire to make a difference.  You should have leadership qualities and be willing to take ownership for the delivery of high quality care. It is essential that you have an active Pin and have a legal right to work in the UK.
