Job Summary: cook required for a 32 bedded residential care home in Silsden
Days will be Wednesday Thursday Friday & saturday 8AM to 6PM
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals according to recipes, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The ideal candidate should have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, a strong understanding of cooking techniques, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
• Ensure food is cooked and presented in a timely manner while maintaining quality and portion control.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, cooking, and storage of food.
• Monitor and restock kitchen inventory, reporting shortages or damaged goods.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient operations.
• Adhere to workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist in menu planning and suggest improvements for dishes and preparation methods.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Cook, Chef, or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and safety.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Culinary school training or certification is a plus but not required.
