A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Activities
Coordinator to become part of our team at Barty House Nursing Home in
Bearsted, Maidstone.
This is a part time role for an average of 20
hours every week.
You will be required to follow a fortnightly shift
pattern, working 3 days one week (24
hours) and then 2 days (16 hours) the following week.
Shifts will be organised on a flexible basis across the week from
Monday to Sunday so you will be required to work some weekends and the
days that you are asked to work each week may vary.
Activities Coordinator - Key Duties:
- Assist with planning weekly activities in line with the requests
and choices of the residents
- Enhance the wellbeing of residents through stimulating social and
physical activities
- Ensure the emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs of
the residents are listened to and met
- Assess needs and plan individual activities for residents who are
unable to participate in group activities
- Motivate the care team, promote the importance of activities and
contribute to the caring culture of the Home
Activities Coordinator - Requirements:
- Excellent communicator
- Show an empathetic, warm and cheerful personality
- Ability to put creative ideas into practice
- Experience of working with senior people would be preferred but
not essential
- Experience in activities for older people will be an advantage
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Have the flexibility and willingness to work shifts, including weekends
