Anchor is looking for a confident, knowledgeable, and values-driven individual to join our team as an Inspection & Safeguarding Officer.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the standard of care across our national portfolio, playing a key role in ensuring our services not only meet—but exceed—regulatory expectations. Your expertise will support both local teams and the wider organisation to embed a culture of continuous improvement and uncompromising safety.

This role will require frequent travel to our care homes across the Central & South of England with occasional overnight stays – including areas such as South Yorkshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Surrey, Sussex and London regions.

What does it mean to be an Inspection & Safeguarding Officer at Anchor?

  • Lead with Purpose: Undertake robust internal inspections across all care and home care services in line with CQC standards.
  • Influence Change: Produce high-quality inspection reports that identify risks, best practice, and opportunities for improvement
  • Be a Trusted Safeguarding Voice: Provide day to day support and guidance to operational colleagues in relation to safeguarding incidents, identifying and escalating potential risk incidents.
  • Shape Strategy: Contribute towards the production of national inspection and safeguarding, themes and trends report, making recommendations for regional and national service improvements based on lessons learnt, good practice and evaluation of current practices.
  • Innovate our Tools: Support the continuous improvement of the internal inspection tool, ensuing it remains aligned to the current regulatory requirements and internal operating standards.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experienced: A strong background in the care sector, ideally with a focus on inspection, auditing, governance or care quality / assurance.
  • Digital Understanding:  A previous background in digital care planning (DCP) / digital medication (dMAR)
  •  Comprehensive knowledge: Excellent knowledge of CQC Quality Statements, Health & Social Care Act (08,12,14), Mental Capacity Act (05) & DoLS.
  • Clear Communicator: You can translate complex findings into accessible, solution-focused reports that inspire action and change.
  • Detail-Oriented: Able to evaluate service quality and articulate findings clearly and professionally.
  •  Collaborative Partner: You build strong relationships with colleagues and take a supportive, professional approach to driving high standards.
