About the role
The Water Systems Maintenance Technician is responsible for the
maintenance, monitoring, and repair of hot and cold-water systems in
accordance with established regulations and standards. This role
involves tasks such as collecting water samples, disinfecting storage
tanks, servicing TMVs, conducting legionella risk assessments, and
removing dead legs.
Reports to: Group Portfolio Asset Director
Key duties and responsibilities
- Undertake maintenance and monitoring tasks on hot and cold-water
systems in accordance with; ACoP L8, HSG 274, HTM 04 01, Water Regulations
- Take water samples and submit to UKAS accredited laboratories
- Cleaning and disinfecting of cold-water storage tanks.
- TMV Service & fail-safe testing
- To carry out legionella risk assessments & reviews.
- Removal of dead legs.
Skills and attributes
- Demonstrate ability to work alone in a multi-site capacity,
working to strict quality control systems and operational procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic IT applications- MS Word, Excel
and utilisation of electronic capture systems.
- Full driving license essential.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to organise workload in line with the company’s requirement
- Demonstrate previous experience in the water treatment industry.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of respective legislation and
guidance material (ACoP L8 HTM 0401 Water regulations, BS8580)
- Previous experience in plumbing
Education and qualification
- Hold a legionella recognised qualification (City & Guilds / WMSoc)

The Water Systems Maintenance Technician role includes opportunities
