Location -Avebury House, 11 Canal Way, Devizes SN10 2UB

Hours - 24 Hours a week, Shifts between 9am-5pm

Pay - £12.21 an hour, paid monthly

About the Home

Avebury is a well-established Nursing care home which provides Residential, Respite, Day Care and Nursing Care.

About the Role and skills that you will need

At Avebury, we have a very simple aim to ensure that our residents feel not just cared for, but to provide them with the atmosphere and environment of a real home away from home.

As our Activities Co-ordinator you will assist us by working with the staff and residents to provide a person-centred program of activities, which considers the needs, wishes and desires of our individual residents.

You will be responsible for enhancing the intellectual and social wellbeing of the residents, by identifying individual activities through observation, assessment and discussion, to improve quality of life and promote independence. You will need to understand the needs of older people and have excellent organisational skills. You will organise social activities for people who need care and support and support and encourage them to take part in the activities.

You will be computer literate and be familiar with using various social media platforms. You will have a creative flair and be able to put together quarterly activity plans.

Your role may include:

Talking to residents about the types of activities they would like to do

Organising activities that are tailored to meet the needs and abilities of individuals as well as group activities

Booking external suppliers to provide entertainment

Arranging trips out in the local community, considering transport arrangements and accessibility

Assisting people to take part in activities

This position is all about bringing joy and laughter to our residents while providing stimulating and creative ideas.

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Experience:

• Activities Co-Ordinating: 1 year (preferred)
• Care home: 1 year (preferred)
