iPhone App to further the usability of carehome.co.uk

At carehome.co.uk we are implementing the latest online technology in order to further our relationship with our customers and continue our reputation as the UK’s leading source of information for the care industry. This week we are pleased to introduce our Care Homes iPhone App, set up to allow for a wide range of subject matter to be searched for more easily, such as: care homes, nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, local authorities, care associations and care suppliers.

The aim is to combine all the excellent content from the carehome.co.uk website with the unrivalled functionality of the iPhone, allowing users to filter their results by classification (e.g. mental health, elderly care) and with versatile display formats, being compatible with Google Mapping or else in easy-to-read list formats. A Saved Feature is useful for saving any entries users are interested in, while the Recent Feature will recall any recently-viewed entries.

As web-related technology advances so does the option for more easy-to-use but also powerful searches, such as that which the Care Homes App has been designed for, allowing for searches by Category, by Current Location, by Location, by Postcode and by Name.

The Care Homes app includes over 25,000 entries and 5,000 photos, focusing on all UK registered care homes and nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, local authorities and the major care associations and suppliers. Having previously worked on a similar App for our travel website www.britainsfinest.co.uk, it became immediately clear that users of carehome.co.uk, currently receiving more than 6 million visitors a year, would also feel the benefits of more powerful search tools.
