Five 'Care Roadshows' look to inspire an evolving care sector in 2012

2012 will see Care Roadshows hosted in five UK locations, after organiser Broadway Events recognised the positive contribution made by the first three Roadshows held in 2011.

The Care Roadshows are directed towards the role all care sector owners, managers and employees. The events are free to attend and designed to help professionals learn more about how their businesses can maximise potential and further the capabilities they can offer to clients.

In tackling the needs of society’s most vulnerable members, care professionals can use the Roadshows to keep up-to-date with the latest products and services to hit the sector and to meet like-minded professionals, as well as choosing from a range of seminars that focus on current care industry topics.

Beginning with three locations in 2011, the success of the events have resulted in two more dates being added to the calendar for 2012, meaning that care professionals can now choose to attend at Glasgow, Gateshead, Liverpool, Derby or Brighton.

Company director Emma Barrett spoke of the contribution the Roadshows are making to the sector: ‘In these uncertain times care home managers are reluctant to travel long distances to attend industry events. The Roadshows have grown and developed as they provide professionals with a space to discuss these issues that are affecting their homes and to bring care suppliers and quality seminar sessions to their local area.’

With the Government poised to debate the values of the proposed Dilnot Commission reforms, a White Paper on which is expected to be published in April, there promises to be much for the sector to discuss as provision continues to evolve to meet the challenges of an ageing population.

The Care Roadshows begin at the Glasgow Concert Halls on the 24th April and finish for 2012 at the Brighton Hilton Metropole on the 20th November:
