B&M Care have successfully relocated thirty-eight residents to the purpose-built Montrose Care Home, in Watford.
The new home replaces the former Tremona Care Home, now closed after thirty-two years of service. Despite an impressive inspection record, B&M Care felt strongly that their priority should be to protect residents’ long-term interests with a modern and purpose-built care environment.
Opening their second new care home in two years, after the impressive Lakeside accommodation was opened in Reading last year, the provider is now scheduled to develop a ‘sister home’ on the Tremona site, through construction division Maynecol Services, once the current building has been demolished later this year.
Appreciating the need for relocations to be handled sensitively, the Tremona care team consulted with residents over the new interior’s decorations and carried out numerous site visits over the last year so that individuals could see the building develop into their new home.
Now housing its first occupants, Montrose Care Home has its own conservatory within landscaped gardens, a treatment room and an activities room, as well as assisted bath and shower rooms, a hair salon and a Chapel. The living environment is ideal for older people and for the practice of dementia care.
B&M Care currently operate nineteen care homes in the South of England, with further expansions planned.
