Specialist residential care provider the Heathcotes Group has confirmed the addition of two renovated Yorkshire care homes to its portfolio.
Heathcotes Bridlington and Heathcotes Whitley have both recently experienced extensive refurbishment and modernisation thanks to a £150k capital investment project.
The eighteen-capacity Bridlington home offers personalised care tailored to the needs of residents with Prader-Willi syndrome, while the Whitley home offers an environment that is ideal for eight adults with learning disabilities.
Regional manager Barry Price commented on the importance of the new services to the provider: “This is not just about throwing money at new services – along with the refurbishment, we’re also driving a total change of culture and ethos at both locations, to ensure that they are delivering a modern, person-centred service for the people who live there.”
The Heathcotes Group has focused its care home portfolio on helping adults with a range of syndromes and disabilities, including autism and Asperger’s, epilepsy and Downs syndrome, as well as sensory impairments and personality disorders.
Managing director David Harrison says that Heathcotes are well aware of the current challenges faced by care sector organisations:
“The residential care market is a very challenging place to be at present; local authorities are reducing their expenditure in terms of weekly fees, whilst at the same time increasing their expectations of providers in terms of quality, outcomes and person-centredness. In that context, I’m especially proud that Heathcotes Care continues to grow its business and whilst we’re always seeking ways to be leaner and more efficient, we’ll never compromise on quality.”
