Carebase care home group shortlisted in Great British Care Awards

Carebase care home group, which specialises in nursing, residential and dementia care, has been shortlisted in three Great British Care Awards categories.

The Carebase group has been shortlisted for the Care Employer Award and two of its care homes have also been shortlisted.

The Tree Tops team at Brooklands care home in Norfolk has been shortlisted for the Care Team Award, which is presented to a team that is able to best demonstrate a shared vision and agreed goals.

The team should have a leader whose role is known and accepted and who takes personal responsibility for their tasks. Demonstrating a commitment to dignity and privacy for residents and also respect for team members is paramount.

The final shortlisting is for the Care Home Activity Organiser Award, for which Alicia Francois at Ashbrook Court in Sewardstone, Essex, has been nominated.

She won this category for the London Regional Awards and has now been shortlisted. This award is given to the Care Home Activity Organiser who has demonstrated they can provide a needs-led, varied and appropriate programme for care home residents.

Carebase won the Care Employer Award in 2010. This award celebrates the employer’s commitment to care.

The Great British Care Awards Ceremony 2012 is the national final of a series of regional events throughout England that take place throughout the year and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector.

The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work. The final of the Awards will take place on Saturday 12 May at Grosvenor House Marriott Hotel in London.
