One of the UK’s largest care home providers, Care UK, have announced the takeover of a new home, Silversprings Residential Care Home, near Brightlingsea in Essex, at the same time as owners having announced the company’s intentions of opening 40 new accommodations over the next three years.
The Silversprings takeover has been made possible thanks to a lease agreement with specialist healthcare investor MedicX, who have acquired the 64-capacity home, furthering the provision Care UK offers not just for older people’s care needs, but also for people diagnosed with dementia or living with a disability.
Development director Richard Pearman welcomed the latest addition to the provider’s portfolio: “I am delighted that we have agreed the takeover of Silversprings. This is a very well-designed home with an already excellent local reputation which makes it the perfect addition to Care UK’s portfolio of 89 high quality nursing and residential homes around the UK.”
While looking to continue the quality services Silversprings has been known for since it was opened in 2009, Care UK’s contribution will bring further innovation in the shape of an Activity Based Care (ABC) itinerary, as well as specialist training programmes for the delivery of dementia care.
The takeover is not the only significant Care UK development in Essex this month. The provider has also opened Colne View, situated in the centre of Halstead, which was designed with the help of the very residents who will live there, having relocated from the former Halstead Lodge into the new purpose-built accommodation.
