Housing for later life awards

Over 100 professionals attended an event to celebrate the work of providers of retirement and sheltered housing at Legal and General’s London Office on 21 May.

The event was held by the Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) a national charity that aims to help older people make informed choices about meeting their housing and care needs.

Housing providers and managers, commissioners, developers, architects, as well as some residents of housing for later life all attended as the 30 awards were presented.

Nominations for the awards were submitted by residents via a game of cards designed to stimulate discussions and capture satisfaction ratings on all aspects housing for later life. 2847 residents sent entries from all over the UK.

The awards were originally developed with the support of the Department for Communities and Local Government. Their core sponsors are Legal & General.
