Fashion icon, Gok Wan has personally customised a T-shirt and donated it to Alzheimer’s Society to auction.
The T-shirt, from boutique fashion brand, Rare has been redesigned and totally customised by Gok, following the theme of his channel 4 programme, ‘Gok’s Fashion Fix’.
The glamorous XL T-shirt is unisex and designed to be worn in summer. It will be auctioned between May 28 and June 11 this year.
Potential bidders should register at www.sellebrity.org.uk.
Fashionista Gok has donated the t-shirt after choosing Alzheimer’s Society as his charity of the month in January of this year. He encouraged fans to support the charity and get involved with fundraising by donating old items of jewellery.
Gok said: “It is often the case that those that are nearest and dearest find it hard to cope as they either struggle to look after themselves or are in the position of carer where they selflessly put others before them.
“Alzheimer’s Society is one of those hugely important charities which holds a beacon of hope and promise to all those who live with dementia, and for those whose hard work and dedication help to pursue a dream of giving those with dementia the best possible support they can in all aspects of their lives.”
If you have jewellery that is either broken or no longer wanted, Alzheimer’s Society can put it to use by recycling it to raise funds for their Old Jewellery Appeal. They welcome jewellery of any kind – whether it’s an odd cufflink or earring, or a bracelet or necklace that you no longer wear. Every single item is gratefully received, and the money raised will be used to fund vital work.

Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive of Alzheimer’s Society said: “We are hugely grateful to Gok for auctioning a customised fashion item in aid of Alzheimer’s Society. There are 800,000 people with dementia in the UK and this number is set to rise. Money raised from the auction will help people live well with dementia today and fund research to find a cure for tomorrow.”
