Residents of Sunrise Senior Living of Virginia Water were treated to a visit by entertainment legend Sir Bruce Forsyth last weekend, as the accommodation marked its tenth anniversary in some style.

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter, who has been entertaining for more than 60 years and lives a short distance from the care home, proved a huge hit with all involved, sharing jokes, stories, singing and even tap dancing with the audience.

Owners of the home showed their gratitude to Sir Bruce with the presentation of a ‘Heart and Soul Award’, usually presented to employees who have gone beyond the call of duty in their contribution to residents’ lives.

Thanking Sir Bruce, general manager Malcolm Hague spoke of Sunrise’s continuing commitment to community life:

“Sunrise of Virginia Water is very proud to have been at the heart and soul of this local community for a decade.

“Residents, staff and families have had a brilliant time celebrating our anniversary and we thank Sir Bruce for making the occasion extra special.

“Here is to the next decade of warmth, fun and laughter at Sunrise!”

Sunrise of Virginia Water is located in scenic surroundings and offers luxury care accommodation for up to ninety-two older people, including for many diagnosed with a form of dementia.
