The awards ceremony took place on Monday 21 May and was attended by over 100 professionals, including housing providers, managers, commissioners and developers.

Roman Ridge’s manager Alan Taylor, who attended the event, said: “We were absolutely thrilled to receive this award. I would like to pay tribute to my team at Roman Ridge whose hard work and dedication to our residents made all of this possible.

“This award is particularly special because it was our residents who nominated us, and it is for them that we do what we do.”

By May 2012, over 10,000 older people will have participated in the resident’s consultation initiative.

This is the third year for the EAC Awards which is the largest consumer exercise of its type. The awards report on housing choice, lifestyle, management, services, and wellbeing and this year 2799 residents took part, nominating 298 schemes across the country.
