Hallmark Care Homes have opened their second Essex accommodation, in the shape of Leigh-on-Sea’s Admiral Court, a sixty-bedroom facility that means the provider now own eighteen care homes across England and Wales.
Opened to coincide with Dementia Awareness Week, Admiral Court will specialise in looking after residents with memory loss, contributing to a growing need for more dementia care provision as all regions of the UK face an ageing population.
Attended by Mayor of Southend on Sea, councillor Sally Carr, as well as welcoming members of the local community, the facility’s open day allowed guests to explore an environment tailored towards residents with mental health complications. Together with comfortable bedrooms and living environments, the home also has its own shop, cinema room, spa therapy room and hairdressing salon, as well as an IT suite and picturesque gardens.
Home manager Sharon Burlace welcomed guests and spoke of the care home’s many qualities: “This building is beautiful and the facilities we have are exceptional. However, that’s just one part of it – the other part, of course, is the outstanding level of relationship-centred care which we will provide to every one of our residents.”
The providers other Essex home, Anisha Grange, in Billericay, was awarded Best New Build Care Home 2012 at the Pinders Design Awards in March.
Although taking pride in offering state-of-the-art care facilities, Hallmark are also keen to see a developing care sector workforce, having recently supported Volunteers’ Week and seeing a healthy turnout of participants throughout its homes.
