Johann Van Zyl has been announced as the new chief executive officer at PJ Care.

Originally from South Africa, Johann Van Zyl has over 25 years of experience in the international business arena. He has worked as a company executive, government lobbyist and advisor in the fields of finance, economic empowerment, restructuring and project development for major national and international companies.

He said: “I am honoured to be joining the PJ Care team; it’s an exciting time to come aboard just after the opening of Eagle Wood, our 10 million pound care campus in Peterborough. For over ten years the company has delivered the highest quality of neurological care through their expanding care facilities. I look forward to working with such a committed team of people to continue to strengthen our position as a leading provider of specialist neurological care in the UK.”

Established 11 years ago, PJ Care offers specialised neurological care. Bluebirds, its first 22 bed care unit for people with early onset dementia and complex healthcare needs was one of the first facilities to offer this kind of residential care to young adults.

The company has increased to offer two more Neurological Care Units in Milton Keynes and four more specialist neurological units and rehabilitation facilities at their Eagle Wood Care Campus in Peterborough.

Jan Flawn, founder and chair of PJ Care said: “We feel very lucky to have Johann as part of the team and welcome him aboard. Although new to the healthcare market his wealth of operational experience and financial expertise will undoubtedly strengthen our management team. Under the leadership of Johann we look forward to continuing our success and expansion of the business, including our work with key development groups, the NHS and leading charities to ensure that neurological care is top of the agenda.”
